While there are a wide number of dōjutsu techniques, the Byakugan, Rinnegan, and Sharingan are collectively termed the Three Great Dōjutsu. Such as in the case of Naruto's masked character Kakashi, dōjutsu can be transplanted onto others, but the success rate is heavily dependent on the individual's psychological compatibility, along with their genetic predisposition. A prime example of such an unnatural case is that of Kakashi, who received his Sharingan during the Third Shinobi World War from Obito Uchiha, with the downside that his ninja eye technique cannot be deactivated at will, leading to the rapid draining of chakra whenever in use. Thanks to the ever-changing world of Naruto, however, various characters have possessed eyes that were obtained via unnatural or violent means. Despite deriving from the same Ōtsutsuki clan bloodline in Naruto, each dōjutsu has its own unique abilities and can often only be possessed by a certain clan, under specific conditions.
